During the past two months, Preston Kemeny and I, Nicole Schiavone, have been working as interns for EFO in Sierra Leone. We are both rising juniors at Princeton University and applied for the position through the Princeton’s International Internship Program. Our work experience over the summer has been varied and interesting, with an emphasis on the Community Charging Station (CCS) project and the SolaWata WASH project. The Ebert Kakua School for the Deaf

As an intern for EFO this summer, I had the rewarding experience to work on a solar energy installation at the Ebert Kakua School for the Deaf in Bo, Sierra Leone. For this project, EFO partnered with the American-based Deeper Missions missionary group, who were also providing sign language training for the school teachers and deaf-culture awareness meetings for members of the community.
