The WASH project, 'Solar Powered Water Purification' shifted into the final implementation phase with a flurry of activity before the holiday break. Four of thr smaller systems were installed and all of the pumping and storage systems are in place. Installation work has started on our WASH project with four sites in Kambia District. The project builds off our community charging station model with the addition of solar water pumping and water purification. This model brings purified water manufacturing direct to the community providing a vital alternative to expensive packet and bottled water transported from Freetown or existing water supplies that are susceptible to contamination. With the recent, annual cholera epidemic now under control this model can hopefully become a preventative measure against future outbreaks.

Work just wrapped at an installation at Eastern Radio in Kenema...incredible work by the team, a set-up you could drop anywhere in the world and be proud of! The first day we connected the system they braodcast throughout the night (a first) and were able to use all of their equipment (a first), an amazing boost to the station and highlights the transformative ability of energy. Great group of people at the station and an excellent project to be part of. More pictures and a full write-up to be added.
