Quick update from our ninth and last installation at Kamabai, Bombali District. This was the most involved of the sites and required the full might of Energy For Opportunity. The only reliable source of water during the dry season is at a location called the 'bush pump', a small spring located about 400m behind the CCS and over and back down a hill. There was already a reservoir in place but the entire bottom section had worn away and it was not able to store any water. A second reservoir had been installed by the District Council about 50m down the hill but it was also not functioning and had some small leaks. In four weeks of intense work we ran cable and pipe from the bush pump to the CCS, installed and moved two solar electricity systems, repaired both existing reservoirs and built an additional extension to ensure we had supply even if the old reservoirs have damage beyond what we could see. System was tested on Monday and successfully pumped to the town and into our 3000 litre storage tank ready for purification. The team is still on site doing some minor touch ups and launching the site.
